Oriental Lotus

Oriental Lotus is a neo-burlesque performing artist created in class with Seattle burlesquer, Cherry Manhattan. Inspired by my own experiences as a Asian-American and Hapa (mixed raced) woman, Oriental Lotus mocks and calls out the sexualization of Asian women in Western culture. Allowing us to ask where is the line between appreciation and appropriation of personal identity and culture. 

Her public debut was at the 3rd annual Cherry Picked! A showcase of new Seattle burlesquers and sponsored by Delicatessen and The Cherry Manhattan School for Burlesque. She can be seen around cabaret showcases around the Seattle area.
